I've got a hankering for

I need a little hepl with thisun. I've heard it all my life but need a little clarification.

So, can I have a hankering for some ice cream and chitluns' (although not at the same time)? or can I only have a hankering for yard work (alhtough I'm gonna have to let the yard go for a couple mo' days)? So witch is it?

Hankering for. Is is desire fer something or is it a knack for something?

It just means "want". So you can use it any ole way. Heck, you can have a hankerin for a woman, new puppy, that fine John Deere tractor you just saw, anything!

:)

Got a good one for you - Wop-sided (crooked).
"That new barn you built's all wop-sided. It's gonna fall down any minute."
